How to Recover Lost Data in Any Storage Device (EaseUS Data Recovery Guide)

What you need before starting
- Software Package: EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard 12 setup archive (.rar file)
- Archive Utility: WinRAR or 7-Zip (archive password: 123)
- System Requirements: Windows 7/8/10/11 (32-bit or 64-bit)
- Target Device: Internal HDD/SSD, External Hard Drive, USB Flash Drive, or SD Card

Download and extract EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard
Download the setup archive package for EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard 12. Right-click the .rar file and extract it using WinRAR or 7-Zip (enter password 123 when prompted).
Run the trial setup installer
Open the extracted setup directory, run DRW.exe, select your language (e.g., English), accept the License Agreement, choose the installation path (default: C:\Program Files\EaseUS\EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard), and complete the installation wizard.
Prepare the system for activation
Close the EaseUS application completely. Disconnect your PC from Wi-Fi/Internet. Open Windows Security -> Virus & threat protection -> Manage settings, and temporarily toggle off Real-time protection and Cloud-delivered protection.
Replace the executable fix file
Check your system architecture in Settings -> System -> About (64-bit or 32-bit). Open the extracted Fix folder, navigate to the matching architecture folder (x64 or x86), and copy DRW.exe. Right-click the EaseUS Data Recovery desktop shortcut, select Open file location, paste the copied DRW.exe file into the main program directory, and choose Replace the file in the destination.
Launch full version and insert target drive
Re-open EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard and confirm that the "Buy Now" or "Activate" banner is removed. Insert your formatted or corrupted storage device (e.g., Camera SD card or USB drive) into your PC and verify it appears in File Explorer.
Scan the storage device for lost files
Select your target drive under External Devices or Hard Disk Drives within the EaseUS interface and click Scan. Allow the Quick Scan and Deep Scan processes to complete.
Preview and recover lost data
Browse the scan results tree on the left panel (deleted or lost files appear flagged with special icons/tags). Select the checkboxes next to the files you wish to restore, click Recover, select a destination directory on your PC to save them, and verify your recovered files in File Explorer.
If something does not work
Activation fails or reverts to trial: Ensure Wi-Fi is completely turned off and Windows Defender Real-Time Protection is disabled before replacing DRW.exe in the program folder.
Target drive does not appear in scan list: Open Windows File Explorer or Disk Management to verify your SD card/USB drive is detected by the operating system before scanning.
Recovered files are corrupted: Save the recovered files to a different physical drive or partition rather than back onto the damaged drive being scanned to avoid overwriting data.
