Glow Light with Battery

A basic DC lighting circuit — a bulb in a holder, a battery, a rocker switch and a few wires — wired up so the switch completes the loop and lights the bulb.

What this build is

A simple DC lighting circuit made up of a light bulb in a holder, a power source, a rocker switch and connecting wires.

Parts used in the video

A small light bulb, a bulb holder, a rocker switch, connecting wires and a battery power source — flat lithium-ion cells, a 9V battery or AA cells all work.

Why it makes a good first project

It is a clear, hands-on demonstration of basic circuit theory: current flows from the positive terminal, through the switch and bulb, back to the negative terminal to complete the loop.
