How to Install Android 9.0 on Micromax Canvas Tab P295

What you need before starting
- Target Device: Micromax Canvas Tab P295 (or x86 Intel-based tablet)
- USB Flash Drive: 8 GB or larger USB 2.0/3.0 flash drive
- Peripherals & Hub: Powered USB OTG Cable/Hub, USB Keyboard, and USB Mouse
- Host Computer: Windows PC for creating the bootable installer
- Software Downloads: Android-x86 9.0 ISO image file (~726 MB) and Rufus USB Flashing Tool (v3.12 or newer)

Create the bootable Android USB installer
Plug your 8 GB+ USB flash drive into your Windows PC. Open Rufus, select your USB drive under Device, click Select under Boot selection, browse to the downloaded Android-x86 9.0 ISO file, and click Start. Confirm to format the drive and write the bootable image.
Connect the OTG hub and peripherals to the tablet
Ensure the Micromax P295 tablet is fully charged. Connect the USB OTG cable/hub to the tablet's micro-USB port, then plug in the bootable Android USB flash drive, USB keyboard, and USB mouse.
Boot into the tablet's boot select menu
Power on the tablet while repeatedly tapping the F7 key on the attached USB keyboard to bring up the device boot selection menu. Use the arrow keys to highlight your USB flash drive and press Enter.
Launch the installation script
In the Android-x86 boot menu, select Installation - Install Android-x86 to harddisk and press Enter to load the partition setup environment.
Partition and format the internal storage
Select the target internal storage drive (e.g., internal eMMC/HDD) from the partition list. Choose NTFS as the filesystem, confirm Yes to format the partition, and select Yes when prompted to install the /system directory as read-write.
Complete the initial Android 9.0 OOBE setup
When installation completes, select Run Android-x86 and press Enter. Once the setup wizard appears, unplug the USB installer drive. Use the attached USB mouse to complete the setup (language selection, Wi-Fi configuration, time zone, and launcher default set to "Quickstep").
Use the system with attached peripherals
Log into the home screen. Navigate Android 9.0 using the attached USB mouse and keyboard (note: default Android-x86 images lack native touchscreen and webcam drivers for this model, making OTG peripherals required).
If something does not work
Tablet boots back into stock OS: Ensure you press F7 immediately upon pressing the power button to open the bootloader menu before the internal OS loads.
USB drive not detected in F7 boot menu: Connect an external power supply to your OTG hub so the flash drive receives enough current to initialize at startup.
Touchscreen does not respond in Android: This is expected on the Micromax P295 running stock Android-x86 due to missing touch driver binaries; keep a USB mouse and keyboard connected via the OTG hub for system navigation.
