How to Transform a Windows 8 Desktop into macOS Mojave

What you need before starting
- Customization Engine: Rainmeter (desktop customization tool)
- Dock Utility: RocketDock or Winstep Nexus Dock
- Theme Assets: macOS Mojave Dynamic HD Wallpaper, macOS Top Menu Bar Rainmeter Skin, macOS Cursors theme package, and macOS Dock Skin/Icons

Apply the macOS Mojave wallpaper
Download an official macOS Mojave desktop wallpaper (such as the default desert landscape). Right-click the image file in Windows File Explorer and select Set as desktop background.
Hide the default Windows taskbar
Right-click the Windows taskbar, select Properties, check Auto-hide the taskbar, and click Apply so the native taskbar automatically retracts when not in use.
Install Rainmeter and the macOS menu bar skin
Download and install the latest version of Rainmeter. Load the macOS top menu bar Rainmeter skin to place a Mac-style menu bar across the top of your screen.
Install and configure the application dock
Download and install RocketDock (or Nexus Dock). Open its settings, position the dock at the bottom of the screen, apply a translucent macOS dock skin, and drag your frequently used desktop shortcuts into the dock.
Change the mouse cursor scheme to macOS
Download the macOS cursor package. Open Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Mouse -> Pointers, browse and replace the default Windows cursors with the macOS arrow and loading indicators, then click Apply.
Clean up desktop icons
Remove or hide all shortcut icons from the desktop (right-click desktop -> View -> uncheck Show desktop icons) to complete the clean macOS Mojave aesthetic.
If something does not work
Taskbar keeps reappearing: Ensure no open background application is flashing notifications or requesting focus on the Windows taskbar.
Rainmeter skin elements misaligned: Right-click the Rainmeter top bar, select Settings, and ensure Keep on screen and Snap to edges are enabled.
Dock hides behind open windows: Open your dock settings (e.g., RocketDock Settings) and set the position layer to Always on top.
