Conversion of Normal Cycle into Electric Cycle

A full DIY conversion that turns an ordinary bicycle into a 24V electric cycle for around ₹7,000–8,000, using a motor kit, a second freewheel sprocket and two lead-acid batteries.

Why convert instead of buying an e-bike

Converting a bicycle you already own costs roughly ₹7,000 to ₹8,000 — far less than a factory e-bike — and it gives you hands-on understanding of how motor control, power wiring and braking logic work together.

What the kit adds

The kit supplies a 24V motor, a longer rear axle with a second freewheel sprocket, a dedicated chain, a central controller box, e-brake levers that cut motor power when pulled, a twist throttle with a key switch, a headlight and horn, a charging port and a matching 24V charger.

What the finished cycle can do

The converted cycle reaches up to 20 km/h and can be ridden on full electric throttle, pure manual pedalling, or a mix of both. Combining motor power with pedalling makes daily 5–10 km commutes far less tiring.
